In politics run amok, the president is threatening to invoke presidential powers to circumvent having to work with Congress on matters of national importance. Declaring “national climate control” and “public health emergencies” is an attempt to further his go-green energy plans and ensure that states cannot limit abortion services.
According to Politico, the Biden administration is seeking to utilize the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness (PREP) Act to overturn recent state laws prohibiting abortion services, including chemical abortions and the so-called abortion pill.
According to a Charlotte Lozier Institute study, chemical abortions surged 500% from 2002 to 2015, accounting for 34.1% of all abortions the study concluded.
The president believes that neither the Supreme Court nor state leaders have the authority to place limits on abortion.
The Daily Caller noted that while the White House is pushing forward pro-abortion initiatives, staffers acknowledged they remain skeptical that “emergency actions” would survive “legal challenges in court.”
Like mask and vaccine mandates, election and border policies and gun control measures, most believe the left will lose on this issue if challenged in court. That fact, however, may not deter the administration from initiating a pricey policy that will take up the courts’ time and ultimately be repealed.
Biden’s handlers seem increasingly desperate as poll numbers continue to sink and the prospect of a red wave in the November midterms seems more like a probability than a possibility. The “bad moon rising” has some pushing Biden to enact executive orders and exercise presidential powers to move forward progressive initiatives.
Thus far, Republicans who control neither the House nor Senate have been able to block Biden’s efforts to pull the nation further left.
This has prompted radicals such as Senators Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren and Chuck Schumer to push the president to take action.
Democrats have attempted, unsuccessfully, three times this year to ensure that abortion throughout all nine months of the pregnancy is legal in every state.
