Politics may make strange bedfellows but freedom is the ultimate unifier because everyone wants it for themselves, if not others.
During an Ultimate Fight Championship pre-fight conference Thursday, a reporter asked UFC President Dana White about podcaster Joe Rogan’s language that has created considerable controversy.
White reportedly left the podium without answering the question but UFC fighter Israel Adesanya stepped in to pinch-hit for him.
“Hold up,” Adesanya said, according to a report in the Daily Wire. “I’m black. I can take this one.”
He reportedly opined there are a lot countries without trees in the fight game. “I’ve been in this fight game since 2008,” the fighter said, adding, “Joe Rogan is one of the nicest, coolest, humble motherf***ers I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Understand that.”
Adesanya mocked the media present by saying they know what they are trying to and it’s because they can’t control Rogan.
“He’s got the biggest platform in the world right now,” he said. “That’s my n****, Joe Rogan.”

The Nigerian-born fighter is the current UFC middleweight champion with a 27-1 record so no reporter probably interrupted or contradicted his commentary. He added another mesage supportive of Rogan on his Instagram page encouraging followers to turn off their TVs and think for themselves.
Rogan quickly responded on his Instagram page.
The embattled podcaster has been besieged by opponents attempting to vilify, if not cancel, him for allegedly spreading disinformation about COVID-19 and vaccinations.
He recently apologized for his use of the “N-word” that Internet searches found he used about one dozen times over the years he has hosted his popular podcast.
He expressed his regret about using the racially charged word in a February 3 apology that appears on video.
“There is no context where a White person is ever allowed to say that word, never mind publicly on a podcast,” Rogan said. “And, I agree with that now.”
