Former President Donald Trump added another grievance to his list of gripes against the FBI after its raid of his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida last month, saying agents searched his teenage son Barron’s room.
During a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, Trump claimed the search for documents was conducted on a “phony pretext” with permission from a “highly political” magistrate judge.
He added that FBI agents “rifled through” his wife and former first lady Melania Trump’s closet drawers and “even did a deep and ugly search of the room of my 16-year-old son.” After a round of boos from the crowd, Trump added that agents left “everything they touched in far different condition than it was when they started.”
As the Daily Wire previously reported, “the “Save America” event marked Trump’s first rally appearance since the FBI raided his home on August 8. Trump focused a large portion of his speech on the “corruption and extremism” of the Democratic Party.”
During his speech, Trump also took aim at Biden’s speech, dubbed by some as divisive and dark.
“Republicans in the ‘MAGA’ movement are not the ones trying to undermine our democracy. We are the ones trying to save our democracy,” Trump said. “The danger to democracy comes from the radical Left, not from the Right.”
“The shameful raid and break-in of my home in Mar-a-Lago was a travesty of justice that made a mockery of America’s laws, traditions, and principles before the entire world,” he said.
