Nicki Minaj Twitter supporters sparked a Twitter storm Wednesday by demonstrating in front of the Centers for Disease Control’s Atlanta, Georgia headquarters.

About a dozen people marched in defense of fears Minaj voiced earlier this week about the Covid-19 vaccines. Some had bullhorns to amplify their message that they sided with Minaj. They shouted that Dr. Anthony Fauci, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director, lied to them and believed Minaj more than him.

The small crowd chanted, “You know Fauci’s lying” and “Down with the CDC,” and expressed support for her decision not to get vaccinated “to go to some stupid Met gala.” Atlanta TV reporter Tori Cooper posted a video to Twitter that said protestors approached cars leaving the CDC compound, which may explain the police officer seen in her video.

Some Twitter followers questioned if the protestors were hired actors or engaged in a staged performance piece. Follower gotchaRENATA asked, “Is this a skit?” Another follower of the rap star, NM4life said, “Those are paid actors; those are not Nicki fans Plsss.”

Former NFL star Herschel Walker sided with Minaj: “Hey @NickiMinaj It’s always OK to ask questions. It should be encouraged to be inquisitive in order to make sure we’re putting our country’s best interests at heart. Thank you for speaking out!!!”

A user with the Twitter handle Maree observed, “The swollen nut crowd is rowdy.”

Another follower, Barbiana, admonished reporters to acknowledge that Minaj advised people to get the vaccine. “They know damn well Nicki told people to take their vaccine. This has gone out of hand and doe not represent her sentiments on the matter.”

Minaj fired the Twitterverse up earlier this week when she explained her reluctance to get the Covid-19 vaccine. Minaj said a family member in Trinidad has a friend who had a negative reaction that left him impotent after he received the vaccine. She said the man was weeks away from getting married but his finance called the wedding off.

“So just pray on it and make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied,” posted Minaj.

The Internet broke after Minaj retweeted a video of Fox News personality Tucker Carlson with a bulls eye emoji above the video. Carlson was defending her right to make decisions about her health and not blindly accept orders from government officials.

The nation’s infectious diseases expert said the rapper’s tweet may be innocent but cautioned her to be careful about what she posts about Covid-19 on social media because she has more than 22 million Twitter followers.
“She should be thinking twice about propagating information that really has no basis except a one-off anecdote, and that’s not what science is all about,” Fauci said.
