A passenger on a redeye to Florida got punched after chewing the ear off the guy seated next to him. It could have been worse. The passenger he bothered — former world boxing champion Mike Tyson — could have chewed his ear off, literally!
Tyson now owns a cannabis company, Tyson 2.0, which reportedly grosses him millions annually. He was reportedly promoting Tyson 2.0 products at a California gathering Wednesday. Ironically enough, one of the edible products his company offered — Mike Bites — were shaped like a bitten ear.
Wednesday, Tyson was eating edibles on the annual marijuana holiday with thousands gathered in Robin Williams Meadow in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, according to the Washington Post report. Afterwards, he boarded a flight from San Francisco to Florida. An unidentified JetBlue passenger sitting behind him in first class reportedly kept harassing Tyson after the boxer posed for a selfie with him.

“My boy just got beat up by Mike Tyson,” a man can be heard saying on a TMZ video clip.
“Unfortunately, Mr. Tyson had an incident on a flight with an aggressive passenger who began harassing him and threw a water bottle at him while he was in his seat,” Tyson spokeswoman Jo Mignano said in a statement to the Post.
Federal Aviation Authority rules forbid airline passengers from assaulting other passengers or crew members. Violators face civil penalties for any misconduct that “can threaten the safety of the flight by disrupting or distracting cabin crew from their safety duties.”
“At approximately 10:06 p.m., San Francisco Police officers assigned to the SFPD Airport Bureau were dispatched to a physical altercation onboard an airplane located at the Domestic Terminal of the San Francisco International Airport,” said SFPD spokesman Officer Robert Rueca.
“Officers arrived and detained two subjects believed to be involved in the incident,” continued Officer Rueca, noting one of them was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries. “That subject provided minimal details of the incident and refused to cooperate further with the police investigation. Both subjects were released under 849(b) of the California Penal Code pending further investigation.”
Rueca added that his department is aware of video that possibly captured the incident. He said the video, which surfaced after the initial investigation, has been forwarded to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
“We do not release the names of detained individuals,” concluded the police spokesman.
