General Michael Flynn appeared on Carl Higbie‘s Newsmax show where he criticized the commander of CENTCOM, General Frank McKenzie, for the way he handled the deaths of 13 US service members.
Gen. Flynn, the former National Security Advisor to President Trump, shared his input on the tragedy of the Kabul airport attack.
Flynn fired at Gen. McKenzie after he took time to speak about the number of aircraft, sorties flown, and all of the equipment deployed rather than speaking about the tragic death of Americans.
“I am concerned about Americans, I’m concerned about two things, the American lives that are still remaining outside that wire of the airfield, and as you just highlighted about 1500, but really, our country doesn’t even know,” he said.
“I’m concerned about the men and women on that airfield, the American soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, that are on that airfield, trying to continue to fight this fight that they’re in. That they have every single capability that they can have, they have all the rules of engagement in place, and they’re not being held back because this is a deadly, deadly enemy.”
Gen. Flynn said the priority in Afghanistan should be protecting Americans.
“I would put more resources to save one American and I could care less about $100 billion worth of equipment that that is lost to the Taliban.”
“We can deal with that later, what we have to do is have everything that we can to protect the safety and security of the American citizens,” he continued.
