The New York Post highlighted an interview between Megyn Kelly and Tom Bower, author of “Revenge,” an unflattering look at the royal couple. The interview cast Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in a negative light — depicting them as needy, insecure and immature.
The interview aired on Friday’s broadcast of the Sirius XM podcast “The Megyn Kelly Show.”
Conservative news host Megyn Kelly came out guns blazing, noting that Markle was, “charitably speaking,” a “B-list actress” and that Prince Harry was “remarkably thin-skinned.”
Bower, the author of an explosive new book about the royal couple, depicted Prince Harry as an “unintelligent,” broken man, “needy of attention.”
Both Kelly and Bower agreed that Markle is a liar, manipulator and social climber.
Criticism was heaped on Princess Diana as well, who was depicted as vain, one who craved attention and encouraged the attention of the press and paparazzi.
Speaking of Prince Harry, Kelly said:
“These two are as thin-skinned as they come when it comes to their public image, whether they matter, what people write about them, and whether they are being adequately ‘protected’ by those around them in the maintenance of these images they believe they have.”
Bower took particular exception to Markle’s behavior, describing her as a “seductive” and “tactile” woman who “was hunting for a man in England” following her divorce from film producer Trevor Engelson.
“She wanted wealth and she wanted fame,” according to Bower, who asserts that Markle “targeted” Harry.
Bower discounted the couple’s claims they were being unfairly treated by the press, saying:
“Anyone who gets in the way with her is ghosted and attacked, and Harry has become hypersensitive and hates the media and yet seeks approval from the media by going on Netflix or Spotify or Apple TV.”
“The contradiction and hypocrisy are enormous,” Bower added.
Kelly referenced the multiple reports stating Harry “believes he’s got a limited time to be on the world stage because Prince George is aging by the moment and will overtake him as the next best thing in the British tabloids.”
Bower responded that Harry is “complicated” and “not really intelligent.” Bowers added, “He remains damaged by the early death of his mother, [Princess] Diana.”
By way of a reprimand, Bowers added, “[Harry] very foolishly blames the media” for his mother’s death, quoting Harry as saying the press “murdered” his mother.
Bower rejects the claim, noting that any suggestion of the media’s culpability in Diana’s death is “complete nonsense.”
Bowers went on to suggest that Prince Harry is bitter and that the way he was treated during the week of funeral services and memorials for his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, made matters worse.
Bowers elaborated: “Harry was not allowed to perform a military salute to the queen — nor was he permitted to wear a full-dress military uniform as the late monarch’s casket was passing by. Harry and his wife were also relegated to the back benches while other non-working royals were seated in the first row during the funeral at Westminster Abbey.”
Bowers added that Harry and Markle are also angry that their children will reportedly not bear the titles “His and Her Royal Highness.”
Bower lays the blame for the feud within the royal family at Harry and Markle’s feet, suggesting they caused irreparable harm to family relationships with their tell-all interview with Oprah in 2021, their move to America and their decision to move forward with the release of a new book this fall.
