President Joe Biden’s foot got caught in the toe cage of a pedal on his bicycle Saturday and he fell.
“I’m good, I’m good,” Biden said, as his Secret Service security detail rushed to help him back to his feet.
The 79-year-old president began biking around the bike paths of Delaware’s Cape Henlopen State Park around 8:30 a.m., according to the New York Post report. After approximately one hour of biking, he cruised over to a group of curious locals gathered near the press pool to watch him exercise. His wife, Jill, continued cycling along the bike path, the report noted.
“Happy Father’s Day,” one woman in the crowd wished the president; others clapped. The glad greetings became gasps when the elderly president lost his balance and fell down at their feet. Biden fell to his right, landing on his knee and elbow.
A video clip posted to Twitter shows the president cruising to the crowd, putting his left foot on the ground but falling to the right as his right foot appears to get caught in the pedal.
“My friend just filmed Joe Biden @POTUS falling off his bike no joke,” the Twitter account holder remarked. “Just happened at Rehoboth Beach.” The tweeted video has already received more than 6.2 million views.

No cuts or scrapes from the fall were visible, reporters present said, according to the Post report. The White House later said that Biden was “fine” after his fall.
“As the President said, his foot got caught on the pedal while dismounting and he is fine,” an unnamed White House official said. “No medical attention is needed. The President looks forward to spending the rest of the day with his family.”
Another Twitter user posted a video of the president falling up the stairs as he was boarding Air Force One.
“In fairness to the president, riding a bike can be tricky,” he commiserated, “almost like climbing a flight of stairs.”
