Newsmax host Greg Kelly went off on Montana GOP Rep. Liz Cheney over comments the lawmaker made over the weekend.
Cheney, a fierce Trump critic, appeared on Fox News Sunday with host Chris Wallace and tore into those who are questioning the partisan January 6 Commission.
Cheney seemed to suggest that it’s anti-American to question the FBI’s involvement at the U.S. Capitol on January 6.
“Congresswoman Cheney, there is talk now, talk that January 6th was a false flag operation, that it was a case of liberals and the deep state setting up conservatives and Trump supporters. Is there any truth to that?” asked Wallace.
“None at all. You know, it’s the same thing that you hear people who say that 9/11 was an inside job, for example. It’s un-American to be spreading those kinds of lies — and they are lies,” Cheney replied.
“We have an obligation that goes beyond partisanship and an obligation that we share, Democrats and Republicans together, to make sure that we understand every single piece of the facts about what happened that day and to make sure that the people who did are held accountable. And to call it a false flag operation, to spread those kinds of lies is really dangerous,” she added.
During his Newsmax show, Kelly went off on Cheney over her comments.
“Dangerous? I think it’s dangerous that saying raising questions about January 6th is dangerous! If she wants to know about lies, catastrophic lies, she should talk to her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney. Who, everybody knows, deceived all of us to get us into the Iraq War. That the Cheney’s are able to show their face in public after what they did to this country, and that country, that’s something,” Kelly said.
