Former President Trump referred to Elon Musk as a “bulls–t artist” in a rally in Alaska in response to Musk pulling the plug on his deal to buy Twitter. Musk claimed that the company failed to disclose details about the number of bots on its platform.
Twitter reportedly provided Musk with a “firehose” of information and user data in the weeks before the announcement. Musk had been warned by experts that determining bot activity would be more difficult than originally expected. While Twitter had claimed that bot activity makes up about 5% of their daily traffic, Musk estimated that it was closer to 20%.

Trump discussed Musk’s walking away from the deal, Musk’s claim that he had voted for a Republican for the first time, and his own platform, Truth Social, among other things at the rally.
Trump said: “One of our highest priorities under a Republican Congress will be to stop left-wing censorship and to restore free speech in America. And go out, by the way while I’m here and sign up now, for Truth Social. It’s hot as a pistol and you see that I called that one, right? Elon. Elon!”
Trump continued: “Elon is not going to buy Twitter. Where did you hear that before? From me.” Trump had previously called that the deal would fall apart.
“He’s got himself a mess, you know.” Trump continued. “He said the other day, ‘I’ve never voted for a Republican.’ I said I didn’t know that. He told me he voted for me. So he’s another bulls–t artist but he’s not going to be buying it, although he might later. Who the hell knows what’s going to happen? He’s got a pretty rotten contract. I looked at his contract, not a good contract. Sign up for Truth. We love Truth.”
Trump’s comments on Musk were just one of the things discussed at the Alaska rally after he called sitting Senator Lisa Murkowski a RINO, or “Republican in name only.”
“This is your precious chance to dump the horrific RINO Senator Lisa Murkowski, who’s worse than a Democrat. She’s worse than a Democrat,” he said, as the November midterm election gets closer.
Trump also discussed Sarah Palin, who is running for the single House seat of Alaska, saying, “She will be a true warrior for your state and for the country.”
