Amid record-low ratings, Dustin Hice accuses the CNN network of protecting sexual predators.
Hice, who accused CNN host Don Lemon of sexual assault and battery in 2018, now charges the CNN network with being a “predator-protecting machine.”
The charge comes soon after Chris Cuomo, a friend of Don Lemon, was fired for inappropriately using his position and contacts to provide cover for his brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, when he was fighting sexual allegations earlier this year. The governor’s struggles ultimately led to his resignation in August.
In an interview with Fox News, Hice said: “They’re a network rife with predators and perverts. Lemon will have to testify under oath in the near future.”
Watch:
CNN has stood with Lemon since allegations became public in January 2020, but given how the network originally stood with Chris Cuomo and then shifted gears and fired him, Lemon’s fate is uncertain.
Tempers are flaring and Hice seems determined to see his lawsuit through. “This is who they are,” Hice said accusingly in an interview with Fox. “They’re a predator-protecting machine; they slander and smear victims with impunity.”
Lemon called Hice’s suit “frivolous,” and his attorney, Caroline J. Polisi, responded strongly to Hice’s assertions:
“In response to Mr. Hice’s baseless allegations, I encourage people to review the public filings, which show that Mr. Hice’s claims have been steadily eroding when they have been exposed to the civil litigation process. Mr. Hice’s fanciful and salacious allegations against Mr. Lemon have collapsed of their own weight.”
“Unlike Mr. Hice, Mr. Lemon has litigated, and will continue to litigate this case in the courtroom, not the press. We look forward to the approaching trial so he can finally put this case behind him,” Hice continued.
Contemplating Chris Cuomo’s recent firing, Hice added, “It’s good to see that there’s finally some accountability happening.”
