Chelsea Clinton sounds like a loyal daughter upset by her mother’s stunning defeat by Donald Trump in the 2016 general election. During Friday’s broadcast of the ABC program, “The View,” Ms. Clinton blasted former President Donald Trump while praising President Joe Biden.
Co-host Alyssa Griffin opined that Trump should never be allowed anywhere near the White House again. She segued into discussing a recent poll showing Trump edging President Biden in a 2024 rematch. Griffin asked Clinton whom she thought would be a better candidate than Biden.
“Do you, as a prominent, respected Democrat, think Biden is the best person to take on Donald Trump, in 2024?” Griffin asked Clinton.
The unsuccessful presidential candidate’s daughter did not answer that question and instead reeled off accomplishments she attributes to Biden. She circled back to reword Griffin’s desire to keep Trump from ever becoming president again.
“I have that concern,” Clinton continued, referring to Griffin’s terror of Trump, “and I’m going to do everything I can to see that he’s not sitting in the Oval Office again.”
Clinton added that it was important to get out and vote November 8 because … Republicans. She didn’t quite call Republicans “the devil,” but her words seemed to suggest evil intent by GOP politicians.
“The Republicans want to cut Medicare,” she declared. “They want to cut Social Security. They want to roll back the college loan forgiveness program.”
“They want to codify at a national level thinking that politicians should decide what I want to do with my body,” Chelsea Clinton continued. She further suggested Republican control of Washington would erode gay rights and even human rights “in a fundamental way.”
She criticized Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for pointing out Hillary Clinton claimed her election was stolen but was not called out by “The View.”
“I think that Sen. Cruz just might have a slightly different memory of that,” the former candidate’s daughter remarked.
Cruz claimed the show allowed Hillary Clinton to lie, calling the 2016 election illegitimate during her appearance on the program. The Texas Republican brought notes about Clinton and failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams. Both made comments on the program that echo those from Donald Trump.
The 45th president has been vilified for his complaints about a stolen election while Hillary Clinton and Abrams have not been, Cruz complained.
