The Freedom Times reports that Candace Owens is warning Americans that something “sinister” is lurking in the shadows, driving and controlling puppet leaders across the globe.
In an interview with Tucker Carlson on “Carlson Tonight,” the popular host and political commentator warned that America’s government is intentionally “creating” problems to prompt citizens “to turn to the government for answers.” She concludes governments are designing policies to create a modern “system of slavery.”
Previously, Carlson noted that in Austin, Texas, “the city’s budget to address homelessness was $68 million — but the budget to help struggling small businesses was just $3 million, and the city police department’s budget was cut $11 million.”
Carlson added, “Four years ago the city of Los Angeles spent $440 million to address homelessness… it did not fix the problem. Homelessness in the city jumped 15% just last year… So this year, Los Angeles will spend more — close to a billion dollars in 2022… And as for the struggling small businesses that are being crushed by COVID restrictions… their budget is $62 million.”
Owens claims the problem is global. She cited how the leader of the Global Economic Forum, Charles Schwab, released a book in 2020 noting how the pandemic represented “an opportunity to transform the world… and abolish private property.”
Owens asserts that the current “eviction moratoriums” are designed to punish homeowners and crash the economy, saying:
“You have to allow people who are basically homeless… with no money… to live in your home… [homeowners] are not going to be able to pay back their mortgages… they are going to default… and then [someone] will come in scooping up those properties once owned by… hardworking, middle-class citizens.”
“Look at the inner cities,” Owens continued. “Why does [government] want these problems? Why do they fund these problems? Why do they want drug addicts? Why do they fund programs that allow people to do drugs? We are looking at a government that wants a system of dependency.”
Holding nothing back, Owens asserted: “What we’re seeing is a modern form of slavery. This is slavery in 2022… [Government] is proliferating this under the guise of addressing COVID-19.”

Carlson was momentarily silent, stunned as he processed Owens’ statement. He then replied, “I agree with you. I wish I didn’t, but I sincerely do.”
When Carlson asked why mayors are not doing more to prevent cities from devolving into chaos, Owens pointed to “government overreach,” adding, “Thank God for governors who are saying, ‘Absolutely not.’ No matter how hard the Biden administration [says] we have to have this. The government is creating problems because they want you to turn to government for answers.”
Broaching a sensitive topic, Owens said:
“I always say Black America was the experiment to this. They issued trillions of dollars in welfare and Black Americans are factually speaking poorer today than they were before the welfare system began coming after them and tearing apart their families. They are now making that system for everybody. They want every single American dependent on the government for food, for family, for drugs. Whatever it is they want a system of slavery.”
Owens closed her statement with a word of challenge:
“And I can not say this enough, people: Look it up. You have to look it up. They want a global technocracy. You are not a conspiracy theorist. Do not allow them to gaslight you. Something very sinister is going on. Not just in America… all across the world.”
