Like a wild and out-of-control stampede, in recent years cancel culture has trampled the rights and careers of athletes, music artists, business leaders and actors.
Though Disney tried to destroy the career of actress Gina Carano for her conservative views, a spontaneous standing ovation from a crowd at an event hosted by The Daily Wire proved that many appreciate those with the courage to stand against woke ideology.
According to the Associated Press, Disney terminated Carano’s contract as a lead actor on the Mandalorian film project because of a tweet.
Carano’s post, which has since been deleted, read:
“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors.… even by children…”
“Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews.”
Carano concluded, “How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”
The Western Journal reports that since Carano was “cancelled” by Disney’s Lucasfilm project, The Daily Wire picked her up to star in their “Terror on the Prairie” film.
The outlet reports The Daily Wire has launched a new streaming platform to be an “alternative to Hollywood.” The service will include television series, movies and documentaries.
The timing seems right as Americans in droves are rejecting platforms that lead with woke ideology. Netflix, Disney, CNN and MSN are just a few progressive media outlets reporting crashing stock prices and diminished viewership.
On Wednesday, The Daily Wire hosted a “Backstage Live” event at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. Executives coordinated the event to announce the platform’s latest projects.
Carano was in attendance but did not have any leadership role in the event. But when event participants were made aware that Carano was in attendance, they stood and extended to Carano a standing ovation — showing their appreciation for her courage and perseverance.

Carano was overwhelmed by the unexpected show of appreciation. Overcome with emotion, tears flowed down Carano’s face as the crowd cheered.
The next day, Carano posted a recap of the event on Instagram:
I was not expecting that. Oh man my heart is so full. The love is deeply felt. I can’t even describe my gratitude or why I even deserved being on the end of this love…but I appreciate you all so much.
Carano added: “Thank you, thank you…for letting me be human, bear my flaws and stumble across finding my voice.. I only do it to let people know that they are not alone during this madness.
It’s not a perfect voice, it stutters and flubs it’s way to a complete sentence but it’s from my heart and I know you all feel it. Thank you for seeing me. I see you too.
