Trump Reveals What Will Stop Him From Running in 2024

Recent remarks by former President Donald Trump indicate he plans to run for president in 2024, unless his health prevents it.

A “Washington Post” interview with the former president, published Thursday, certainly gave credence to beliefs he will seek reelection to his former office.

““You always have to talk about health,” Trump said. “You look like you’re in good health, but tomorrow, you get a letter from a doctor saying come see me again. That’s not good when they use the word again.”

“I don’t want to comment on running, but I think a lot of people are going to be very happy by my decision,” he said. “Because it’s a little boring now.”

Love him or hate him, honest people would admit there were few dull days during the 45th president’s administration. Evidence of his news magnetism was the April sale of the CNN network, which lost tremendous amounts of viewers after he left office in January 2021.

Trump will be 77 in November 2024, while President Joe Biden — if he runs again — will be weeks short of his 82nd birthday.

If he does throw his hat in the ring again, Trump has reportedly ruled out including former Vice-President Mike Pence on the ticket.

“I don’t think the people would accept it,” Trump told the “Washington Examiner” in March during a phone interview from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

“Mike and I had a great relationship except for the very important factor that took place at the end. We had a very good relationship,” he added. “I haven’t spoken to him in a long time.”

The former president said a lot of people will be very happy by his decision when he announces it, adding prominent Republicans like Pence, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo would not primary him.

“If I ran, I can’t imagine they’d want to run,” he remarked. “Some out of loyalty would have had a hard time running. I think that most of those people, and almost every name you mentioned, is there because of me. In some cases, because I backed them and endorsed them.”
