Former President Donald Trump called a former attorney general pathetic after Bill Barr defended the FBI’s raid of Trump’s home. Trump added the label of RINO to his former AG, an acronym for “Republican in name only.”
“He was a weak and pathetic RINO, who was so afraid of being Impeached that he became a captive to the Radical Left Democrats,” Trump declared in a Truth post Friday. “’Please, please, please don’t impeach me,’ he supposedly said. Barr never fought the way he should have for Election Integrity, and so much else.”
“He started off OK as A.G., but faded fast,” the 45th president added. “Didn’t have courage or stamina.”
Barr drew the former president’s ire when in a Friday appearance on Fox News he voiced support for the Justice Department’s search of Mar-a-Lago.
“The facts are starting to show that they were being jerked around, so how long do they wait?” asked Barr Friday on air.
Trump’s attorney general added he did not believe Trump’s claim he had declassified everything before transporting documents from the Oval Office to Mar-a-Lago. Barr contradicted critics of the FBI’s 10-hour search of Trump’s Florida home. Barr declared it was unprecedented for such sensitive materials to be taken to a country club.
Clashes between the two men have punctuated their professional relationship since Trump sat behind the Resolute desk in the Oval Office. Barr resigned in December 2020 after an infamous raised-voices dispute between them about voting integrity during the 2020 general election.
Matters came to a head between them because Barr would not disclose the Justice Department was investigating Hunter Biden before the election, Trump said during a 2020 Fox News interview.
“All he had to do is say an investigation’s going on,” Trump said, adding Barr did the wrong thing because it affected the election.
