Veteran actor John Aniston, the father of Jennifer Aniston, has died. His death was confirmed by his daughter Jennifer, a notable actress in her own right.
Aniston died last Friday at age 89. Jennifer’s announcement included an emotional Instagram post:
“Sweet papa…John Anthony Aniston. You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace – and without pain. And on 11/11 no less!”
The Emmy-winning star acted in more than 3,000 episodes of the daytime drama “Days of Our Lives.”
John’s Emmy-winning daughter wrote, “You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now. I’ll love you till the end of time. Don’t forget to visit 💫🤗❤️.”
The New York Post noted that a cause of death was not disclosed and that “’The Morning Show’ star’s reps” said that Jennifer’s “Instagram post will be her only statement.”
Friends and followers of John and Jennifer have expressed their condolences on social media.
“Rest In Peace sweet John 🙏🏻🕊🕊🕊❤️,” fellow soap opera veteran Lisa Rinna, 59, posted in the comments, while Aniston’s close friend comic-author Chelsea Handler, 47, shared a pair of heart emojis.
Days of Our Lives tweeted: “Our hearts are broken over the loss of our beloved family member John Aniston. We love you John. Your legend will live on.”
Actress-comedian Amy Sedaris, 61, tweeted: “Awwwwww so sorry. I’ll light a candle. We love our fathers ❤️❤️❤️.”
The Associated Press wrote: “John Aniston, the Emmy-winning star of the daytime soap opera ‘Days of Our Lives’ and father of Jennifer Aniston, has died, He was 89. ‘You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew,’ Jennifer Aniston posted on Instagram in a tribute to him.”
