Republican lawmakers have put Dr. Anthony Fauci on notice they plan to investigate him if they retake Congress, in November.
Representative Chip Roy (R-Texas) appeared on the Friday episode of the “Tucker Carlson” show broadcast by Fox News. Fox’s Will Cain asked Rep. Roy how he would get the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to release data on COVID-19 hospitalizations they reportedly would not release.
“When are we going to have accountability for Anthony Fauci?” asked Roy.
“Look, he’s missing right now for one reason, and one reason only: The Democrats are looking at the polls,” Roy told Cain. “It wasn’t dead Americans that made Democrats move. It wasn’t dead Americans that made Fauci go away. It was polls. And I want to hold Anthony Fauci accountable.”
“And if you’re watching this, Dr. Fauci, look out because when the Americans give us control in the House of Representatives, God willing, we’re going to get some answers on behalf of the American people.”
Earlier this week, Representative Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) confirmed the GOP will attempt to investigate Fauci and other federal health officials on how they responded to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a report in “Just The News”. Jordan is the ranking minority member on the House Judiciary Committee so he would be expected to become the committee chairman if Republicans regain control of Congress.
Jordan reportedly added Republicans will try to get information from the federal government and Fauci’s agency on whether COVID-19 was created by researchers in a Wuhan, China laboratory.
“That is because they knew from the get-go [COVID-19] came from the lab, likely came from a lab, gain-of-function likely done, and our tax dollars were used.” Jordan said. Gain of function describes a controversial form of research that alters an organism that may enhance biological functions.
