President Joe Biden has been quick to tout his accomplishments. On Wednesday, while speaking to the United Nations General Assembly, Biden noted how America’s standing in the world had significantly improved since he became president.
However, former President Trump popped Biden’s bubble when he mocked the fact that President and First Lady Biden had to wait to be seated at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral, and when they were seated, it was back in the 14th row.
The former president shared a photo on Truth Social showing where the Bidens were seated. Noting that the Bidens were slighted at the funeral and that America now has a tarnished reputation, Trump’s Tuesday post read: “This is what’s happened to America in just two short years. No respect!”
“However, a good time for our President to get to know the leaders of certain Third World countries. If I were President, they wouldn’t have sat me back there—and our Country would be much different than it is right now!” Trump added.
Seemingly not content with a simple thrashing, Trump followed up with a post: “In Real Estate, like in Politics and in Life, LOCATION IS EVERYTHING!!!”
The Western Journal noted that the Bidens reportedly arrived at the funeral approximately 10 minutes late, electing not to travel to Westminster Abbey by shuttle with other dignitaries.
The Guardian reported, “Perhaps as a consequence of opting out of the buses taking other leaders from the assembly point at Royal Hospital Chelsea, the Bidens were … given seats 14 rows back in the south transept of the abbey.”
Many viewed the delay in being seated and the seating placement as a slight to the Bidens.
The Guardian noted that the Bidens seemed to be demoted to an area reserved for second-tier dignitaries. The outlet observed: “The U.S. President took his seat behind Andrzej Duda, the President of Poland, and in front of Petr Fiala, the prime minister of the Czech Republic. Sitting to her husband’s left, Jill Biden sat next to Ignazio Cassis, the President of Switzerland.”
The Western Journal noted: “Nothing against these countries, but it does seem like a demotion for the American president to be seated behind Poland” when the U.S. and Great Britain have had a “special relationship” since World War II.
Newsweek minimized the significance of the seating arrangements, noting that “the British were following protocol by positioning leaders from Commonwealth countries — including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica and Papua New Guinea — ahead of the Bidens.”
It was observed that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was seated nine rows in front of the U.S. president.
The Journal noted: “Maybe it is also a reflection of the lesser esteem Joe Biden garners,” adding, “It seems doubtful that [Trump] and Melania Trump, attending the funeral as the first couple, would have rated 14th-row seats as the Bidens did.”
