Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) made it clear on Sunday that he had no patience for protesters who had made their way into private neighborhoods to stake out the homes of Supreme Court Justices.
“We can’t tolerate intimidation as a political tool It’s 1 thing to peacefully demonstrate & another to undermine institutions like SCOTUS+harass justices at home bc of a decision u might not like And ANYONE making threats of violence should be arrested & prosecuted,” Grassley tweeted.
Grassley’s comments came after pro-abortion protesters planned protests outside the homes of conservative justices protesting the early-decision draft that was leaked early last week. The draft, written by Justice Samuel Alito, indicated that the court could be poised to overturn two landmark abortion rulings – Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.
Pro-abortion group Ruth Sent Us — named for the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg — distributed maps showing the general locations of some of the justices’ homes, prompting Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy to ask Press Secretary Jen Psaki for a response.
