Ukraine military officials have reportedly said Russia’s war will end before March 9, a Russian holiday marking victory over Nazi Germany.
Russian propaganda indicates the war must end by then, Ukraine flag officers said on Facebook, according to “Conservative Brief”.
Ukrainian brass acknowledge that Russians continue to wage war despite “significant losses” and “low morale”, according to the report.
“The enemy continues to destroy the infrastructure of peaceful cities and villages of Ukraine, rudely violating the rules of war and ignoring the requirements of International Humanitarian Law,” they said in their Facebook post.
“According to the available information, among the personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, propaganda work is constantly being carried out, which imposes the idea that the war must be completed before the 9th of May, 2022,” the military continued.
The report relayed urgency on the part of Russia to renew combat capability of their airborne troops, which reportedly suffered critical losses in manpower and equipment.
Ukraine military also reportedly claim Russian forces are having difficulty controlling local residents in areas they occupied during the current war.
“Attempts to install a false pro-Russian government among the traitors and collaborators do not have support from the local population,” the officers said.
The post further claims Russian units are holding mass ceremonies to mark large numbers of deaths in their units. They claim the 126th Separate Coast Guard Brigade conducted a “farewell ceremony” for approximately 100 dead members of their unit. The Ukrainians further claim a Black Sea Marines unit held a similar ceremony at the Sevastopol Sailors Club.
They conclude with reports of alleged crimes against refugees fleeing Mariupol and note Russian military losses. They claim the 59th Tank Regiment operating near Kharkiv suffered such heavy losses they resorted to commandeering tractors from farmers to transport their damaged vehicles.
Suggestions of plans for an imminent end to hostilities follows recent claims by Ukrainian Intelligence that Putin will be assassinated.
“Poisoning, sudden illness, accident — Russia’s elite is considering removing Putin,” declared a recent Facebook post from the Chief Directorate of Intelligence for the Ministry of Defense.
Ministry officials claim “influential people” have been forming groups in Russia. Their goal, according to a “New York Post” report, is to “remove Putin from power as soon as possible and restore economic ties with the West, which were destroyed by the war in Ukraine.”
