After four negative COVID-19 tests over each of the last four days, President Joe Biden tested positive Saturday, a House House doctor said.

“The President has experienced no reemergence of symptoms, and continues to feel quite well,” explained Dr. Kevin O’Connor in a letter. “This being the case, there is no reason to reinitiate treatment at this time, but we will obviously continue close observation.”

“However, given his positive antigen test, he will reinstate strict isolation procedures,” O’Connor said, adding the president wants to protect everyone in the White House from catching COVID from him.

Sometime Saturday, after testing positive, Biden posted a photo of him seated at a West Wing desk without a mask to the presidential Twitter account to apogize for backing out of a scheduled event in Scranton, Pa.

“Folks, I’m doing great. Thanks for your concern,” Biden remarked. “Just called Senator Casey, Congressman  Cartwright, and Mayor [Paige] Cognetti (and my Scranton cousins!) to send my regrets for missing our event today.”

“Keeping busy!”

The president’s doctor acknowledged in his Saturday letter to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre that President Biden was experiencing “COVID Rebound.” Real Clear News Reporter Philip Wegmann posted a copy of the letter to his Twitter account.

The Pfizer-made antiviral drug Paxlovid may cause a relapse of COVID-19 symptoms even after a negative test is returned, according to health officials. A perfect example would be the president’s chief medical advisor, Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Fauci finished his five-day course of Plaxovid and tested positive on his fourth day of testing after three days of testing negative for COVID.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a May advisory noting “COVID-19 rebound” occurred in a small number of Paxlovid recipients. COVID Rebound occurs between two and eight days after initial recovery and is characterized by recurrent but milder symptoms and viral detection after having tested negative, according to the CDC.
