Dr. Anthony Fauci holds notable positions — Chief Medical Adviser for the Biden Administration, the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIH) and the government’s face for responding to the COVID pandemic since 2021.
However, this notable doctor has been accused by Sen. Rand Paul, also a medical doctor, of obstructing justice, coordinating illegal “gain of function” research, misleading the American people and profiting from advancing draconian policies that negatively impacted millions of people.
In January, Fauci responded by accusing Paul of profiting from the pandemic.
On Thursday, Fox News reported that Fauci’s disclosed personal wealth increased $5 million in the last few years.
Fox News cited the watchdog organization OpenTheBooks’ investigation into Fauci’s financial dealings, which noted that his earnings primarily come from “investment gains, awards, compensation, and royalties.”
Adam Andrzejewski, CEO for OpenTheBooks, told Fox News Digital:
“While Dr. Fauci has been a government bureaucrat for more than 55 years, his household net worth skyrocketed during the pandemic. Fauci’s soaring net worth was based on career-end salary spiking, lucrative cash prizes awarded by non-profit organizations around the world and an ever-larger investment portfolio.”
Andrzejewski continued, noting Fauci’s questionable ties and income streams:
“Despite becoming a figure of controversy, the system has rewarded Dr. Fauci handsomely. For example, he is the top-paid federal employee, his first-year golden parachute retirement pension is the largest in federal history, and he’s accepting $1 million prizes from foreign non-profits.”
The OpenTheBooks analysis shows that by the end of 2021, Fauci’s disclosed assets totaled $10.2 million, and his wife, Christine Grady, added $2.4 million to their financial portfolio in 2020-2021.
The OpenTheBooks report also shows that Fauci received questionable lucrative awards from nonprofits, including a $1 million award in 2021 from the Dan David Foundation for “speaking truth to power” and “defending science.”
Fauci is the highest paid employee in the federal government and received significant raises in 2021. Since 2015, Fauci’s wife earned $1.6 million in compensation from the NIH for serving as the Institute’s Chief Bioethicist.
Andrzejewski said: “Our auditors at OpenTheBooks.com relentlessly pursued transparency into the Fauci Family Finances – and those of the NIH itself – because the stakes are so high.”
Andrzejewski added:
“We filed four federal lawsuits to follow the money and documents are starting to be produced. Public health guidance during the pandemic has drastically impacted the lives of every citizen, and Dr. Fauci has been its most visible face. It’s critical to know whether any decision making is tied up in the financial interests of public leaders, whether they’ve made any ethics disclosures to the government, and how they invested.”
NIH Offices did not respond to a request from Fox News Digital for comment.
