Outspoken United States Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-Ga.) expressed profound displeasure with Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kan.) after he capitulated and supported Democrats in a vote to raise the debt ceiling.
After more than a dozen Republicans joined Democrats to vote to suspend the filibuster, McConnell provided the single vote necessary to pass the bill to raise the debt limit by $2.5 trillion. The vote in the Senate was 50-49.
The Conservative Brief notes that the complex procedural maneuvering, which included an after-midnight vote to raise the national debt to an astronomical $31.5 trillion, was “crafted by McConnell and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.”
Following the vote, Rep. Green tweeted: “The House of Representatives is voting after midnight tonight @LeaderMcConnell allowed Democrats to bi-pass the filibuster and ram through the debt ceiling to increase to $31.5 TRILLION.”
Green signed off her note: “Mitch is Biden’s b****.”

Mitch is Biden’s bitch.

The move to raise the debt ceiling follows the recent passage of Biden’s $1.7 trillion “Build Back Better” initiative, which Taylor referred to as “horrible” and akin to “communism.”
Schumer did not share Green’s opinion. The Conservative Brief reports that Schumer publicly “thanked McConnell for having ‘reached out across the aisle in good faith to bring us to this point.’”
He then added, “As I have said repeatedly, this is about paying debt accumulated by both parties, so I am pleased Republicans and Democrats came together to facilitate a process that has made addressing the debt ceiling possible.”
At a recent Save America rally, former President Donald Trump lambasted McConnell’s “terrible” leadership. Angry that McConnell allowed the passage of Biden’s $1.7 trillion “Build Back Better” plan, Trump said: “McConnell has just folded on the debt ceiling, a total victory for the Democrats—didn’t use [the filibuster] to kill the $5 Trillion Dollar (real number!) Build Back Worse Bill that will essentially change the fabric of our country forever.”
On Dec. 10, Trump told Texas radio host Mark Davis: “It’s like taking money and throwing it out the window, and Mitch McConnell could have killed it…. What he’s done is unthinkable. He gave up the debt ceiling. That was the best negotiating tool that we had to kill this horrible bill.”
According to The Hill, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) endorses eliminating the debt ceiling altogether, and on Tuesday she articulated her position that a bill transferring authority to raise the debt limit from Congress to the Treasury Secretary “has merit.”
