RTM previously reported that following Vice President Kamala Harris’ declaration that the “border was secure,” Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) authorized transporting two busloads of illegal immigrants from Texas to Harris’ residence in Washington, D.C.
Hours later, reporters caught up with the vice president near the East Room in the White House and asked for a comment regarding the 100 immigrants who departed the busses in front of her home. A stone-faced Harris glared at the reporter and walked away without answering.
Fox News reported that immigrants transported by Abbott were picked up in Eagle Pass, a small town on the Texas-Mexico border. RTM reports that residents of Eagle Pass report they are overwhelmed by the impact of thousands of immigrants entering the area each month and have asked for federal intervention.
Harris’ refusal to comment on the latest drop-off of immigrants from border states to Washington occurred after speaking at the United We Stand Summit hosted in the White House.
Fox News reports that a White House pool reporter made eye contact with Harris as she was leaving the United We Stand Summit. She was walking in his direction, and, as she approached, the reporter asked her for comment on “the recent arrival of immigrants near her D.C. residence.”
Harris looked at the reporter and continued walking without answering.
The Daily Wire noted that Democrats who have supported the Biden administration’s border policies “have decried the busing tactic and said their cities and states cannot absorb the influx of illegal immigrants.”
Last week, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a “public emergency” over the arrival of buses from Texas and Arizona.
Fox News reports that a “representative from a non-governmental organization called Sanctuary DMV showed up and told the migrants they would be going to a local church.”
