Ivana Trump suffering so much hip pain she couldn’t even leave her house for a trip to the Hamptons two weeks ago, according to a New York post report.
“There was something going on with her hip, she couldn’t walk,” said the owner of Southampton hot spot 75 Main, Zach Erdem. The restaraunt was reportedly a favorite of hers, which she planned to visit earlier this month.
“She was going to come two weeks ago, but she was feeling bad,” Erdem reportedly remarked. “She said she wasn’t feeling well.”
“She said she was having pain in her leg,” he added. “She couldn’t get out of her house.”
The coroner’s office removed her from her Manhattan home Thursday. The 73-year-old ex-wife of former President Donald Trump was found dead around 12:40 p.m. Thursday, at the bottom of the staircase in her Upper East Side home, according to the Post report.
No cause of death has been announced yet by the Medical Examiner’s office. Law enforcement sources said she may have suffered cardiac arrest, either leading her to tumble down the stairs or crumple on the floor where she was found, the Post reported.
Erdem said when he talked to his longtime friend, he urged the former model and businesswoman to visit a doctor.
“No, I hate going to doctors,” Ms. Trump reportedly told the eatery owner. “I get more sick going to doctors.”
The restauranteur said he had known the former president’s ex-wife for at least 15 years, including when he once worked at one of her favorite Big Apple haunts. He was referring to Nello, an exclusive Upper East Side eatery.
“I was her busboy when I was at Nello’s,” Erdem reportedly remarked.
He told the Post he remembered Ivana as a kind, generous, supportive mentor who could occasionally be a bit flirtatious.
