A High School teacher was arrested Friday and charged with multiple sex crimes against a minor.
The man charged is Benjamin A. Duran-Tobias, a chemistry teacher at Chambersburg Area High School in Pennsylvania.
According to The Post Millennial, Police charged Duran-Tobias with two counts of involuntary sexual intercourse, institutional sexual assault, one count of corruption of minors, one count of unlawful contact with a minor, and one count of indecent assault.
WHTM News reports that Duran-Tobias is being held at the Franklin County Jail.
The Post Millennial noted the alarming increase in sexual crimes against minors, even as “progressive activists continue to fight against anti-grooming legislation meant to protect children from grooming behavior that can turn into sexual abuse.”

- Anessa Paige, a school teacher in Richmond, California, was arrested on April 6 and charged with 29 counts of lewd acts with children.
- Jeffery Tomasulo, a former teacher in Stuart, Florida, was found guilty on April 7 of sexual battery of a 13-year-old student.
- Nathan Bramstedt, a former High School teacher in Aurora, Illinois, was charged on April 8 with 9 counts of criminal sexual assault and 3 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Chambersburg Area High School administrators placed Duran-Tobias on administrative leave after a student accused him of inappropriate sexual behavior.
The Chambersburg Police Depart posted their review of the crime, and their thanks to the Chambersburg Area School District for their assistance with the investigation.
