Herschel Walker (R) fired back at former President Barack Obama for saying the Georgia U.S. Senate candidate was not fit for office.
As The Daily Wire reported: Obama made the remarks during a stump speech Friday for U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA), who is trailing Walker in the polls for the upcoming election, saying that Walker is a “celebrity that wants to be a politician.”
“Now there are a lot of young people here, yes, that makes me excited. Some of you may not remember, but Herschel Walker was a heck of a football player,” the 44th president said.
“In college, he was amazing. One of the best running backs of all time. But here is the question: Does that make him the best person to represent you in the U.S. Senate? Does that make him equipped to weigh in on the critical decisions about our economy and our foreign policy and our future?”
Walker returned the favor and took a swipe at the former president’s remarks.
“President Obama was here last night. He said I’m a celebrity. He got that one wrong, didn’t he? I’m not a celebrity, I’m a warrior for God,” Walker said during his campaign trail Saturday morning.
“He got something else wrong, too. Remember two years ago, he told us to vote for Joe Biden, didn’t he? He got that one wrong, did he not? He’s lost twice to Georgia already, hasn’t he, so I think he probably needs to sit this one out.”
“I’m sorry to tell former President Obama, I’m sorry, I’m gonna pray for him,” Walker continued.
“I’m gonna pray for him because he needs some help. He needs some help because he got with the wrong horse. Senator Warnock is the wrong horse. You know he can’t do the job, and it’s time for him to leave. So don’t let the door hit your butt as you walk out of there.”
