In a teaser first posted by The U.S. Sun, convicted sex trafficker and accomplice to Jeffrey Epstein reportedly “feels so bad” for her “dear friend” Prince Andrew, also accused of sex crimes, and is “heartbroken” by the loss of her “special friendship” with former President Bill Clinton.
The teaser comes in advance of a “series of jailhouse interviews for an upcoming TV documentary” by CBS-Paramount Plus, according to The New York Post.
According to the Sun, Maxwell, now serving a 20-year sentence for her crimes, decries “the fact that famous friends have been … ‘canceled'” because of their “association with her and the late Jeffrey Epstein.”
Maxwell reportedly laments being cut off by former President Clinton, whose reputation, according to The New York Post, “was further tarnished when it emerged he flew on Epstein’s so-called “Lolita Express” private jet.
Speaking of Clinton, Maxwell told documentary filmmaker Daphne Barak:
“It was a special friendship, which continued over the years,” adding, “We had lots in common. I feel bad that he is another victim, only because of his association with Jeffrey.”
“I understand that he, like others, can no longer consider me as a friend,” Maxwell said.
Maxwell maintains her innocence throughout the upcoming documentary, “blaming pre-trial publicity for unfairly making her appear as a “wicked witch,'” according to the New York Post.
Maxwell also repeatedly lamented the “very heavy price that has been paid by the cancel culture” attacks on “many people” around her, noting that too many were suffering because of “guilt by association with Epstein” — including herself.
Maxwell clarified:
“I said in my court statement that meeting Epstein was the greatest mistake of my life. And obviously, if I could go back today, I would avoid meeting him, and I would make different choices.”
Maxwell claims there are likely “many women who can identify with my story. Many have either fallen in love with or had relationships with men that in hindsight, they look back on and say, ‘What was I thinking?'”
She continued: “I imagine there’s not a woman on the planet who would not think that about one or other of their boyfriends.”
The Post notes that Maxwell was interviewed twice in preparation for the upcoming documentary. Her first interview took place at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and the second at Tallahassee’s Federal Correctional Institute.
Maxwell is reportedly unsatisfied with her living conditions and claims that a fellow inmate has made at least one attempt on her life.
