Fox News political analyst Gianno Caldwell Saturday announced his teenaged brother, Christian, died from a gunshot wound in Chicago, Illinois.

“Yesterday was the worst day of my existence,” Caldwell declared in a Saturday Twitter post. “I received a call informing me that my teenage baby brother was murdered on the South Side of Chicago. Never could I have imagined my baby brother’s life would be stolen from him. Please keep my family in your prayers.”

Caldwell said his brother was the latest victim of Chicago’s crime wave, according to a Fox News report.

He joined the Fox News network in 2017 and also runs a bipartisan consulting firm. He is the author of “Taken for Granted: How Conservatism Can Win Back the Americans That Liberalism Failed.”

The political analyst later moved to Washington, D.C. He penned a 2019 New York Post column describing another encounter where gun-toting thugs from the Windy City’s violent South Side shot at his younger brother.

The Fox News analyst described how his younger brother and some friends were sitting in a parked car when two men armed with automatic pistols began firing at them. He said his mother informed him about one of his brother’s brush with death that night.

“Shattered windows. Punctured steel. And, then skin,” wrote Caldwell. “Later, the police would count 25 shell casings. My brother survived, but I could just as easily be discussing him in the past tense.”

“His best friend died in my brother’s arms that night; two more victims of the violence in Chicago.”

In his book, Caldwell recounted that, at the time, Illinois State Rep. LaShawn Ford, D-Chicago, acknowledged Democrats had, in Caldwell’s recounting, “failed black people, especially because of the violence in Chicago.”

Caldwell criticized Chicago’s leaders after they ignored an offer by former President Donald Trump to provide federal resources to battle the city’s chronic violence.

“Why?” asked Caldwell before answering his own question. “Because [then-Mayor] Rahm Emanuel disagreed with Trump’s politics.”

For now, though, he said all he wants is for the justice system to find the murderer(s) and hold them accountable.

“What I’m looking for right now is details from the police to discover who it was that murdered my brother,” said Caldwell.

“My baby brother never had a chance.”
