The death of a North Carolina woman whom friends said died of alcohol poisoning in Mexico may have been murdered.
Bernard Robinson explained his daughter Shanquella was not a fighting type, according to a TMZ report. His remarks followed video that surfaced online appearing to show his daughter in a violent altercation in her hotel room.
While vacationing with friends last month, Robinson was found dead in her Los Cabos hotel room. The report noted the friends informed her parents the 25-year-old daughter died of alcohol poisoning.
Robinson’s parents revealed that Mexican authorities have told them their daughter died from blunt force trauma to her neck and spine. An online video appears to show a bulky woman assaulting Robinson in her hotel room while she was naked.
The video supports her father’s assertion she was not the fighting type because she does not fight back during the hotel room assault captured on film.
“Can you at least fight back?” asked a man with an inquisitive voice.
A woman, perhaps the victim, replied, “No.”
“At least something,” continued the man’s voice heard in the video. “At least fight back.”
The presumably male voice appears to come from the direction the video is filmed from. He appears to stand next to a woman holding a mobile phone that appears to also be recording the incident.
“Get up, girl,” the assailant yells at Robinson who is on the floor after being punched a number of times. “Get up!”
Her father said the situation feels like a set up to him because her friends at home would not have allowed it to happen, according to the TMZ report. The report added Mr. Robinson believes the attackers left her body to be found by a hotel housekeeper to find.
