A Florida lawyer who failed to attract voters has attracted a lot of attention today after saying January 6th’s Capitol riot was worse than 9/11.
“On 1/6/2021, 9/11/2001 ceased being the worst thing that happened to America in my lifetime,” Pam Keith wrote on her verified Twitter account. “It’s really weird and painful to process and say that. But it’s the truth. And quite frankly… it’s not even close.”
Keith failed in her 2018 bid to represent Florida’s 18th Congressional district after being an unsuccessful Democratic candidate in the Florida Senate race of 2016.
The unsuccessful political candidate is being shellacked on social media for her take. Political pundits Chris and Dana Loesch called out Keith for allegedly making the 9/11 memorial about herself. “Because today is all about you,” Dana Loesch tweeted.
“Tell that to the families of the 2,996 people who died on 9/11,” Christian author Jennifer Greenberg said in reply to Keith. “Actually, scratch that. They deserve peace and comfort today. Leave them alone.”
Another poster who identifies herself as a libertarian consultant, under the name Ghost Gunner Lizzy, amplified Greenberg’s sentiment: “You should say this to the face of all the families of the victims in the Pentagon, in the Twin Towers, on the airplanes and the first responders and heroes who died on 9/11.”
Twitter poster Jacob Airey responded by saying on his verified account, “Congratulations. You came up with a stupider post than Jim Acosta could.”
Not everyone on Twitter is hating on Keith, though. Fellow Floridian Vinny Cannatel tweeted, “You’re right!!!”
Another account @JustitiaMatrona posted, “Absolutely, totally and completely agree.”
Twitter user Captain Qwark said, “You are 100% correct.”
“Sad, but true,” said gypsygirl13. “And some of our leaders encouraged it. And are denying it. Hiding from it. Encouraged Americans to come after and kill other Americans. We have fallen so far from the grace we felt on 9/11- when we all came together.”
