Sarah Matthews, reportedly the mother of a 12-year-old girl present at the party, accused Broyles in a Twitter post, of using profane and racially-perjorative language with a group of teen girls at a slumber party. The post also claimed Broyles became heavily intoxicated during the party.

The February 11 party at the home of a Deer Creek Public Schools parent included eight girls between the ages of 12 and 13, according to report from NonDoc. Broyles was reportedly present during the party at the invitation of the homeowner, a mother of one of the children.

An email request from comment from Broyles was not immediately returned but the Nondoc report included a denial from the congressional candidate.

“I saw the tweets,” Broyles reportedly said, adding “I have been out of town on a fundraising trip, and they are awful and offensive and false.”

“I mean, I get trolled on Twitter all the time, but I don’t know these women and I don’t know what is behind this, but it’s just not true.”

The report noted she was asked if she had been present at the home where the slumber party occurred, to which Broyles responded, “No.” She added the incident did not happen.

If the alleged events are true, it is unclear why the candidate would have stayed at a slumber party long enough to become severely intoxicated.  Despite Broyles’ denial she was there, the report indicated parents have photos from the party that prove her presence. One photo reportedly shows Broyles with four girls, three of whom are wearing pajamas. The publication noted it spoke directly with Matthews’ daughter, whose name was withheld.

“It really just happened,” the teen reportedly said. “It was like it was a switch and she started being rude to people.” She added Broyles had been nice earlier in the evening but seemed seemed to become angry with everyone as the evening progressed.

“We were all sitting around, and she was just going around in a circle saying rude things and would end with ‘F-er’ and saying ‘F-you’ to all of us there — really rude things,” the 12-year-old said, according to nondoc. “My friend has acne, and she had been talking about her acne early in the evening, and then [Broyles] called her an ‘acne F-er,’ and she ran upstairs crying.”

The owner of the home where the party was held is a former law school classmate of the congressional candidate and reportedly donated $2,550 to Broyles’ unsuccessful 2020 congressional campaign.

UPDATE: After initially denying she was even present at the slumber party or had engaged in inappropriate behavior, under pressure after multiple other parents contacted KFOR TV in Oklahoma, Abby Broyles sat down for an interview with station reporter Kevin Ogle.

During the interview, Broyles reversed herself and admitted she was indeed present at the slumber party, and that she had become intoxicated. However, the Democratic congressional candidate blamed medication she was given for affecting her that night, and claims not to remember any of the inappropriate language she directed at the teenage girls at the party.
