Texas Congressman and frequent critic of America First conservatism, Dan Crenshaw accused Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) of having ties to Russia for opposing an American proxy war with them in Ukraine.
Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a Republican, voted on Tuesday night to approve a $40 billion taxpayer-funded package to Ukraine to aid in their war against Russia.
Joe Biden, who is increasingly waging a proxy war against Russia in Ukraine, touted the aid package, and others like it, as being “critical to Ukraine’s success on the battlefield.”
57 House Republicans, including Georgia’s Marjorie Taylor Greene, voted against the legislation, citing concerns over dumping more money into a foreign nation while America is economically struggling at home. They also heeded warnings that America’s increased involvement in Ukraine could spiral the situation out of control and trigger a military confrontation involving the United States.
Just hours after Dan Crenshaw voted to support Biden and the establishment’s Ukraine aid package, he took to Twitter with a post about the levels of lethal fentanyl pouring over America’s open border with Mexico, remarking that “Biden doesn’t care.”
In response, he was called out by a Twitter user, who pointed out that while Crenshaw publicly opposes Biden online, he is sitting in DC voting to fund his efforts in Ukraine.
“Yeah you sound off about that stuff but then you vote yes on the $40 billion to Ukraine,” @BungusChigg replied to Crenshaw’s Tweet, generating a response from the Congressman, who said he voted in line with Biden’s agenda in hopes of destroying Russia’s military.
“Yeah, because investing in the destruction of our adversary’s military, without losing a single American troop, strikes me as a good idea. You should feel the same,” Crenshaw, who has become known for getting very defensive when his record is challenged, wrote in response.
While conservatives flooded Crenshaw’s tweet with signs of disapproval, labeling him a “neocon” and a member of the “RINO” establishment, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene jumped in, asking him how his vote to fund Ukraine actually helps Americans.
“You speak as if Ukrainian lives should be thrown away, as if they have no value,” Greene added, blasting Crenshaw’s support of a “proxy war with Russia.”
“How does that help Americans?” Greene asked.
In response, Crenshaw accused Marjorie Taylor Greene of having ties to Russia, and “going after” a position with Russian state-sponsored television.
“Still going after that slot on Russia Today?” Crenshaw asked Greene, only to once again be blasted by conservatives in the response section of his Tweet, drawing comparisons to the late John McCain.
