Conservative commentator Dan Boningo is warning conservatives that credit card companies could cut off enemies of the political left.
During an interview on Fox News, Bongino spoke about several large corporations cutting ties with Russia and refusing to do business with anyone in the country as a result of the conflict with Ukraine.
Bongino warned that something similar could happen in America against conservatives if liberals create enough of an uproar over a certain event or cause.
“The saddest part of this whole thing — I’m out to dinner with my wife with my wife before I get the air, and We’re having a conversation and she asked me about Mastercard, ‘What do you think Mastercard cutting off Putin and Russia and Paypal and other payment services?’” Bongino began.
“And I said, you know what, ordinarily I would say, ‘Wow, that’s really terrific, good, it will put pressure on them.’ But, you know what seriously concerns me? That the left will see this as a Bat-signal to go and turn this on their political enemies here at home. And by the way, that’s not a conspiracy theory. They have already done this kind of stuff. Strike kicking Donald Trump off. That’s got to concern you too focusing on this stuff over at Heritage,” he added.
HP Inc. told shareholders recently that it would cease all operations in Russia.
In February, HP suspended all shipments to Russia and Belarus in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. “Considering the current environment and long-term outlook for Russia, we have decided to stop our Russia activity and have begun the process of fully winding down our operations there.”
Private equity firm Pamplona is working with U.S. investment companies to help cut ties with Russian oligarch backers, Bloomberg reported.
