Chechnya’s warlord leader sneeringly referred to Tesla boss Elon Musk as ‘Elona’ while warning the entrepreneur that his friend Vladimir Putin would hammer him in a fight if they ever came to blows.
Ramzan Kadyrov hit out at Musk with the slurs on messaging service Telegram a day after the SpaceX founder challenged the despotic Russian president to a fight.
Kadyrov issued a broadside, writing: ‘You’ll need to pump up those muscles in order to change from the (effeminate) Elona into the brutal Elon you need to be.’
The diatribe had begun threateningly, with Kadyrov snarling: ‘Elon Musk, a word of advice. Don’t measure your strength against that of Putin’s.
‘You’re in two completely different leagues.’
Kadyrov continued: ‘Vladimir Vladimirovich will look unsportsmanlike when he beats the hell out of you, a much weaker opponent.’ ,before outlining his hypothetical plan to ‘train’ Musk, 50.
He proposed a get-tough regime to get the Space X entrepreneur into fighting shape.
‘I propose training at one of the several centers in the Chechen Republic,’ he said.
That involved firearms training at the Russian Special Forces University, a trip to the Akhmat Fight Club to ‘be trained to take a punch’ and a visit to the Grozny Chechen State television and Radio Broadcasting company, to learn what Kadyrov dubbed ‘American methods of ‘black PR’.’
‘Russian Special Forces University: Here you will undergo firearms training with world championship special forces, who beat US special forces in 2015 like it was nothing,’ he said.
Next, ‘Akhmat Fight Club: This is where you’ll be trained to take a punch, a quality needed in any fight. Under the guidance of Abuzayed Vismuradov, you will learn to quickly pull yourself up not just physically, but also mentally, giving you nerves of steel.’
Kadyrov signed off his missive: ‘You will return from the Chechen Republic a completely different person Elona, that is, Elon.’
Musk appeared non-plussed by Kadyrov’s venom, and shared a translation of the message with his 78 million followers, before changing his display name to Elona.
He even ramped up the tension further, tweeting: ‘Thank you for the offer, but such excellent training would give me too much of an advantage. If he is afraid to fight, I will agree to use only my left hand and I am not even left-handed. Elona.’
On Monday, Musk, 50, threw down the gauntlet to Putin, goading him to fight over Ukraine.
‘I hereby challenge Vladimir Putin to single combat,’ Musk posted, using Putin’s name in Russian. ‘Stakes are Ukraine,’ he added, writing the country’s name in Ukrainian.
Kadyrov, who inherited the role of head of the Chechen Republic after his father, who previously held the title, was assassinated. Human Rights Watch has accused him of crimes against humanity, including kidnapping, torture, assassinations and the persecution of homosexuals.
He denies the allegations.
