United States President Joe Biden’s ban on African travel is illustrating the biblical axiom, “As you sow, so shall you reap.”
In a February 1, 2020 Twitter post, Biden chided then-President Donald Trump for banning travel from African countries.
“This new ‘African Ban’ is designed to make it harder for black and brown people to immigrate to the United States,” said Biden. “It’s a disgrace, and we cannot let him succeed.”
On Friday, Biden announced a ban on travel from eight African countries beginning Nov. 29. The ban on travel from South Africa and seven other countries generated swift ridicule and charges of hypocrisy and racism.
“This morning I was briefed by my chief medical advisor, Dr. Tony Fauci, and the members of our COVID response team, about the Omicron variant, which is spreading through Southern Africa,” Biden said in a statement. “As a precautionary measure until we have more information, I am ordering additional air travel restrictions from South Africa and seven other countries.”
Brit Hume worked at ABC News for 23 years before joining Fox News in 1996. After the President announced his African travel ban, Hume Friday commented on Biden’s February 2020 post criticizing Trump. “This was Biden on what he called the ‘African Ban’ last year,” Hume noted. “Now he’s imposed one himself.”

Biden doubled down on his criticism of former President Trump’s banning travel to limit spreading COVID-19 in America. “Banning all travel from Europe — or any other part of the world — will not stop it,” Biden lectured Trump. “This disease could impact every nation and any person on the planet — and we need a plan to combat it.”
Political strategist Arthur Schwartz opined the African travel ban, “Sounds kinda (sic) racist and xenophobic.”

Former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell posted his reaction to the Biden ban on African travel to his Twitter account. “Biden’s extended un-American travel ban undermines our nation’s core values,” Grenell said. “It is clearly driven by hate, not security.” The former intelligence director also blasted the New York Times for their coverage of Trump’s African travel ban.
“Are we allowed to say the @nytimes said travel restrictions were racist?” pondered Grenell.

“Democrats downplayed Covid until you learned you could rewrite voting rules. Also New York handled Covid the worst while granting Cuomo emmys for covering up nursing home deaths. Do your cardio, lift, get vaccinated if at risk, and live your life,” wrote Mike Cernovich.
“Double standards in media coverage of Biden compared Trump over COVID has been remarkable to watch,” added Max Abrahms, a professor.
